I’m sure most of you might be familiar with this absolute amazing read by Adam Kay. This is a book I’ve always heard such great things about and needless to say, it’s definitely worth the hype!
The book is written in the form of diary entries covering the author’s entire journey as a junior doctor in the NHS, the ups and the downs.
It has the ability to leave you laughing out loud, and then shedding tears a few pages later. Most of all though, it gives an honest insight into what the lives of doctors in the NHS are like and I believe it is a must-read for anyone looking into a career in Medicine.
Admittedly, a question that pulled at my curiosity and kept me really wanting to read ahead from the start was ‘so what made him leave the profession?’ (I would say ‘spoiler alert’ but the book opens up with this) and although there were parts that did break my heart, I admired how realistic it was. It also tremendously increased my respect for everyone working in the NHS.
To conclude, I’ll leave you with a quote that really stood out to me: ‘The hours are terrible, the pay is terrible, the conditions are terrible. But there’s no better job in the world’.

Loved the concluding remarks "The hours are terrible, the pay is terrible, the conditions are terrible. But there’s no better job in the world".
Can't emphasize more … but would add an old saying "Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life".
